In partnership with the Dubai Sports Council , this year’s Globe Soccer Awards celebrated the football industry and the return of football activities worldwide.
An impressive line-up of some of the biggest icons in international football, stars and guests attended the Dubai International Sports Conference and the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony in Dubai on 27 December.
One of the most highly anticipated categories – Best Men’s Player of the Year – had Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski in contention, alongside other popular names, Kylian Mbappé, Karim Benzema and Mohamed Salah. Kylian Mbappé would win the trophy in this year’s edition.
Robert Lewandowski ended up on getting 2 awards: TikTok Fans’ Player of the Year and Maradona Award for Best Goal Scorer of the Year, and Cristiano Ronaldo won Top Goal Scorer of All Time.
Once again showcasing women’s football, the first Globe Soccer Award for the Best Women’s Club of the Year, had five teams in the frame; ending with Barcelona as the true winner. Also the Best Women’s Player of the Year would go to Alexia Putellas.
Always a star-studded event, Globe Soccer Awards 2021 promised and delivered to be a captivating evening, an unmissable occasion for enthusiasts of football at the international level.
