Marco Villiger
Director of the Legal Division, FIFA
Marco Villiger obtained his legal qualifications in 2000 from the University of Zurich. In 2002, he joined FIFA and acted as Head of Disciplinary until after the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™. Since 2007, Marco Villiger has been Director of the FIFA Legal Division. In this capacity, he is currently responsible for the four departments of the Legal Division: Players’ Status (taking care of all international transfer disputes, players’ agents), Commercial Legal (Sponsorship agreements, licensing agreements, broadcast agreements, bidding procedures), Disciplinary (doping, suspensions, irregular betting) and Corporate Legal (compliance, litigation, general contracts). Marco Villiger is also teacher at the University of Zurich (MASIO), Member of the IOC entourage commission and Board member of FIFA Ticketing Pty.
