The Trophy

The design is a sphere and curving arch. The sphere is of polished, brushed gold and represents a ball, in other words the game of football, glittering in its own light. The arch, on which the sphere seems to roll, is made of polished steel and reflects the sphere symbolizing the jury which assigns the awards to the key names in football.

The two elements, are closely linked also by exact numerical and geometrical ratios. The sphere and the arc have a radius which is a multiple of 9.15 which is the radius of the center circle on a football pitch.
